Summary0004246: Crash During Applying Stereo Plugin to Mono Track
DescriptionBelow are the steps taken during reproduction of the issue.

1. Created new project with inputs NOT automatically connected to physical ports.
2. Input mono .wav file as its own mono track
3. Tested - File plays fine at this point in Ardour. Please note at this point log does show one error: "[ERROR]: path (/home/jazzyeagle/Tunestorm 05) is ambiguous." No other errors
4. From mixer, added New Plugin-> By Category -> Delay -> Calf Vintage Delay LADSPA, defaulted to post-fader. I did not move to pre-fader.
5. Tested - Played fine at this point in Ardour, however there was no effect noticed on playback.
6. Modified the following parameters under the plugin edit function:
     A. Tempo changed to "120.000"
     B. Mix mode changed to "Stereo"
     C. Amount changed to "2.000"
7. Tested - Played fine at this point in Ardour. Effect WAS noticed on Playback.
8. On Editor Window, clicked "a" button on Track, Plugins -> Calf Vintage Delay LADSPA -> Amount. This created the automatation track.
9. Created Automation, starting at 0.00 at the start of the track, spiking up to 4.00 where I want to hear the effect, then created a diagonal line back to 0.00 to phase out the plugin. Please note that the automation continues beyond the region end.
10. Tested - Playback did start this time, and the effect was heard when the expectation was that there would be no effect (not sure if this was due to user error or not). When the automation changed from 0.00 to 4.00, however, Ardour closed without any error messages. Please note that the original results were almost exactly the same. The only difference is that there was no playback at all prior to Ardour closing.

Additional InformationOriginal file included three stereo tracks, two of which were recorded with input from Yoshimi, one which was recorded with input from Hydrogen. Both of those received their MIDI input from Rosegarden. Since this issue occurred without including these tracks upon reproduction, I did not feel it necessary to re-record these tracks, but figured I best mention it in case it was important.

It would be helpful if you could run this test again with JACK in non-RT mode and with a long client timeout (the JACK -t parameter). You should then be able to get a complete backtrace that we can use to start looking at the issue.

Sorry for the delay on getting you the update. I'm not good at the command line for JACK, so I used KXStudio's Cadence utility, turning off Realtime and upping the Client Timeout time to 10000 ms. This is the maximum timeout allowed in the program. If you need more, let me know. Thanks!!

I'm not sure if you mean Alpha 10 when you say SVN 10068, but I did download and install Alpha 10. I was still having the issue. I even recreated the Ardour session, just in case that might affect something, and it did not. Someone had since informed me of using "Play" mode selected for the plugin instead of "Manual". I'm having the same issue when set to Play. Not sure if that helps you any or not.

Still crashes when applying stereo plugin to mono track.
