Summary0000678: A few issues with frozen tracks and rec enable buttons
Description1. If you restore a session which has frozen tracks, the
record buttons look active (=they are not grey). Also
the plugins look normal instead of grey.

2. If you select the frozen playlist on a different track,
you can record on the playlist.

3. Also, you cannot "unfreeze" the playlist on a second
   track using the same playlist.

Of course, on very good question is should you be able to do this:
 a) Should other tracks be able to select the frozen
    playlist?
 b) Should you be able to change the playlist on the frozen
    track?

Saying no to both would simplify things a lot.

Ardour/GTK 0.529.3 running with libardour 0.827.4

fixed in CVS. frozen playlists are now effectively hidden from view unless present in a frozen track. they cannot be selected by any track, including the one for which they were created. the rec-enable button now restores in its correct state, and the playlist button is likewise made insensitive if the track is frozen.
