Summary0004532: Crash/segfault when deleting single MIDI note with select and <ctrl-x>
Descriptioni have an ardour project that segfaults almost every time i perform a single note delete operation in the MIDI editor. i open the project and the first operation i perform is the note delete and i nearly always observe the ardour segfault
Additional Informationi hope the backtrace is enough information but i can provide specifics of my system and/or perform additional debug capture if necessary. My version of ardour was built on a pull from svn on 12/1.

(gdb) stack
Undefined command: "stack". Try "help".
(gdb) help stack
Examining the stack.
The stack is made up of stack frames. Gdb assigns numbers to stack frames
counting from zero for the innermost (currently executing) frame.

At any time gdb identifies one frame as the "selected" frame.
Variable lookups are done with respect to the selected frame.
When the program being debugged stops, gdb selects the innermost frame.
The commands below can be used to select other frames by number or address.

List of commands:

backtrace -- Print backtrace of all stack frames
bt -- Print backtrace of all stack frames
down -- Select and print stack frame called by this one
frame -- Select and print a stack frame
return -- Make selected stack frame return to its caller
select-frame -- Select a stack frame without printing anything
up -- Select and print stack frame that called this one

I think this was fixed in SVN 10881, please could you test that?

i pulled/built SVN on 12/4 and reran my test. It still only takes a few note delete operations to cause a segfault but the backtrace appears to be different. i reran the test and got a similar result.

Attaching the latest backtrace.

OK, thanks, please try SVN 10907.

Rebuilt from SVN tonight and did a bunch of MIDI note editing and had no problems. Also did a bunch of cut/paste and copy/paste, note moving/resizing for good measure. In general, MIDI editing operations appear to be significantly more stable now.

If i had reread ticket 0004237 before my little test session this evening, i would have tried some undo/redo operations (as per the latest note in that ticket) but i had forgotten that detail.
