| Description | Ardour 3 seems to randomly crash on a note length edit (in particular, going backwards in the time line seems to cause the crash) for more involved sessions. usually after restarting the note can be edited without crashing. | ||||

after re-opening a session after the above described note length edit crash, the notes MIDI region that had been the most recently recorded were no longer in their correct position time-wise. |

added another backtrace for A3 SVN 9942, as it seems to happen semi-regularly (every 0000009:0000010 edits). again, the MIDI region being edited at the time is ruined :( |

how repeatable is this for you? can we do some debugging ? |

with new builds over the last few days, this particular bug is happening (thankfully) been happening, so the repeatability is not great. however, i do have some old snapshots and core dumps of this bug. this bug, along with other MIDI editing "things" i am finding, i would be happy to debug. still occurring, though rarely, with rev. 9983, even in a new session, though i am not able to reproduce regularly. attaching latest backtrace "A3 MIDI note edit crash 2011.08.12.15.06.core.backtrace", which seems to be the same as the earlier ones. |

it is possible that this crash is related to undo/redo and selection handling. |

One cause of this bug is fixed in SVN 10991; I'd be interested to hear if you can still reproduce it. |

sorry, i had been afraid to upgrade the last few months as i had lots of work to do with A3 projects and been staying w/ SVN 11255 as it works well enough. i will try upgrading this evening and get you a better report w/ a recent SVN, but with 11255, the crashes after an undo seem to be gone, though i still am getting a few crashes on MIDI edits. fortunately, the crashes no longer seem to trash the MIDI files. |

@cth103: OK, after doing some more serious MIDI editing with SVN 11592, i have not seen this crash. the only MIDI crash i am seeing is after lots of MIDI editing, we get a crash on save. however, i think that is already filed somewhere. if not, i will make a report w/ backtrace. so this bug seems fixed. thanks. |
