Summary0002798: Wrong waveform display on second highest zoom level
DescriptionOn the second highest zoom level the waveform is displayed with an offset from the other zoom levels. In this test this offset was about 345 samples or 7 milliseconds (see playhead, marker and delta display), but it seems to vary a little. This was to observe since the higest zoom level was changed from 2 to 1 frame per pixel in revision 5117.

Steps to reproduce:

1. create a new session
2. import (or maybe record) some audio to a new track
3. examine the zoom levels
4. Ah, I can see it! ;)

Screenshots attached.

i can reproduce this with current 2.0-ongoing, r5499. looks like worth investigating...

interestingly, the "rectified" waveform view is also broken in the second-highest zoom level (as of r5499)

A few days ago I noticed that, too. Plus on highest zoom level the waveform suddenly switches from rectified to traditional view. But I'm not sure if this is an intended feature - maybe for findig zero crossings easier. *shrugs*

I'm sure I've seen this bug affecting only some of the tracks in the session. I've also seen it affect the third-highest zoom level (but to a lesser extent) when zooming in from fully zoomed out. Zooming back out one click from the second-highest zoom level still shows the misalignment, but zooming back out from max zoom only shows a problem with the second-highest zoom level (the level-3 display then looks correct).

I've attached some screenshots showing the problem affecting different tracks by different amounts, and also affected the third-highest zoom level.

Same problem in Ardour 2.8.11 from rev. 7387.
I have attached more screenshots (zoom-issue.tar.gz)
To my eyes, the problem is only in the second highest zomm level

It looks to me like the waveform is aligned correctly at the start of the region at all zoom levels, but at the second highest zoom level the waveform is drawn slightly too short to fill the space required.

Something funny in AudioSource::read_peaks_with_fpp(), perhaps?
