| Summary | 0005679: 3.3 and 3.4 crash when loading Tal reverb plugins | ||||
| Description | Tal plugins have recently been crashing ardour, they did not previoyusly in 3.3 but are now crashing ardour in both 3.3 and 3.4. Im assuming its something that has changed recently in kx studio but posting here incase it is something that could be improved on in ardour. Debugger info attached in additional information. happens every time you try to load the gui. | ||||

FalkTX from KX studio has pointed out what might be the problem Below is what he has to say about the issue " Re: KXStudio recent updates - any problems? Postby falkTX ยป Mon Sep 09, 2013 2:52 pm Your error is right here: Code: Select all suil error: Unable to open wrap module /opt/kxstudio/lib/suil-0:/opt/Ardour-3.4-dbg/lib/libsuil_x11_in_gtk2.so report to the ardour devs that KXStudio sets up SUIL_MODULE_DIR variable, and ardour3 erroneously adds to it instead of replace it. I think if you run: Code: Select all unset SUIL_MODULE_DIR /path/to/ardour3" |

Ardour 2.8 with comes with KX Studio 12.04 (with latest updates) tal plugins load gui fine. Is there any progress on a fix for this issue? The tal plugins are very good, i much prefer them over all the other reverbs (except for hybrid but my system cant handle hybrid reverb) |

The fix seems simple but ive failed to get it working. Any ideas? |

Ardour 3.4 that are included in the kx studio repositories load the tall plugins fine. So im working again but prebuilt binaries from ardour still crash when loading tal plugins. |

ardour 3.5 has the same issues. and it effects other plugins aswell. Trakmeter crashes ardour aswell. Yet KX studios builds of ardour work fine. |

this only concerns the binary bundles from ardour.org. Should be fixed in 3.5-3-gf191bdf https://github.com/Ardour/ardour/commit/f191bdf |
