Summary0000292: mtc slave mode
DescriptionAttempting to have Ardour chase MTC generated by a Tascam DM-24. This configuration enables the DM-24 to use its MTC for automation events within itself.
Additional InformationArdour:
*Sync Source = MTC (SMPTE)

Engaging Play on the DM-24 produces the following:
<rparker> input: System Exclusive (2 bytes)
<rparker> input: System Exclusive f1
<rparker> input: System Exclusive (2 bytes)
<rparker> input: System Exclusive f1
<rparker> received new MTC status
<rparker> MTC stopped ...
<las> rparker: its hard to say where the bug is. the msg you see occurs either because we got a full MTC msg, and are waiting for the first quarter frame message, or because the MTC message received was not expected.
<las> rparker: given that the two preceeding sysex msgs were 2 bytes, you probably got quarter frame messages, but libmidi++ doesn't like the order they arrived in.

I thought this had never worked and wasn't going to until post 1.0 - I talked extensively with paul about MTC sync earlier in the year and the deal was, y'all were going for SMPTE first...

that said, I still say MTC is WAY more important than SMPTE, as most gear seems to have MTC capabilities and not actual SMPTE these days
