| Description | My session has begun giving many error messages includeing: [ERROR]: Could not open /Users/vivianbarty-taylor/Ardour projects/Bowl piece/Bowl piece.ardour.bak as copy [ERROR]: SndFileSource: cannot open file "/Users/vivianbarty-taylor/Ardour projects/Bowl piece/interchange/Bowl piece/audiofiles/high 3.aiff" for reading (System error.) [ERROR]: Could not access soundfile: /Users/vivianbarty-taylor/Ardour projects/Bowl piece/interchange/Bowl piece/audiofiles/high 3.aiff I've also had error messages with the last comment (too many open files) Is there an upper limit? | ||||

Probably the same problem as I have here: http://ardour.org/node/2872 If I am right in the post, it's a linux realtime setting problem and the report can be closed. |

Hi, the default upper limit in Linux is 1024 for realtime processes. Edit your /etc/security/limits.conf and add: USERNAME - nofile 100000 or any number above 1024 (nofile=number of open files). Report can be closed. |

looks like a user error (open file limit, external to ardour). no other feedback from OP. closing. |
