| Summary | 0000981: track marks in TOC export | ||||
| Description | I don't think it is usefull to use ranges as trackmarks. Most often you'll lay out the DAO image just as you want it to appear on the disc, and insert marks (not regions) for the tracks. As it is now, marks can only generate indexes, which nobody (?) actually uses... It is hard to adjust regions so that one ends exactly where the next one begins, it would be very much easier if you could use marks for this. | ||||
| Additional Information | I'm using 0.9beta29 but this was not available in the "Product Version" dropdown box in Mantis... | ||||

having already coded and tried this, i have to disagree. the biggest problem is that tracks on a cd aren't single points, they have a pregap, start and end points. professional premastering people really need to control all of these. currently, you can set ranges so they don't overlap by snapping to (for instance) cd frames or region boundaries when you drag their start and end points. hopefully there will be a dedicated ruler for setting cd tracks and indexes after 1.0 comes out (i'm struggling with the basics of it now), which should be easier to use. |

How do you mean, how does the pregap differ from the end of the previous track? Maybe I know to little about this... |
there's not much difference.. but with only one point, you can't mark the end of any track. thus you can't control the pregap at all (it would always be zero). |

there will be a specific ruler for this post version 2.0 |
