Summary | 0009663: Control surface settings should be set global
Description | Currently the control surface settings are saved with the project, which means every time you open a (older) project you have to reassure that those settings are still correct. Wouldn't it be better to save those globally? I mean, who changes the control surface between projects? In most cases you have one surface which should be set once and then you dont't have to think about it further.

Control Surface settings are saved with global preferences and these settings are used with new sessions. However loading existing sessions will override the global settings. This is by design. There is one exception: Generic MIDI is always per session, since MIDI Learned bindings are session specific. Since Ardour 7.5. Control Surfaces are also auto-detected (Faderport 8/16, LaunchPad Pro/Mini, Push2, Console1, ShuttlePRO, ShuttleXpress), unless you manually disable a given surface. |
