Summary | 0009583: Sticking notes with certain VST plugins
Description | Certain combinations of instruments will cause notes to stay ON.
Steps To Reproduce | Install Spitfire Audio Labs Frozen Strings: Cello and Soundpaint Piano - 1928 Steinway: Main Sustain TF, both are free. Press and release multiple notes at the same time.
Additional Information | With Spitfire Audio Labs Frozen Strings: Cello on one channel and Soundpaint Piano 1928 Steinway Main Sustain TF on a second channel, and using a keyboard, play multiple notes at one time, then release. Quite often one or more notes will stick ON. This problem happens in Ardour 8.2 and Mixbus 9.2 but does not happen in Mixbus 8.2. The combination Spitfire Audio Labs Frozen Strings: Cello and Sine Player Layers Full Orchestra also will cause the problem. I have tested numerous other instruments and they have all worked fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Mixbus and the instruments. Ardour was a new installation.

Just wanted to update, I installed MB v10 yesterday and it fixed the issue and one other issue that I was having. I'm guessing that means the problem was also fixed in Ardour. |
|
While I'm glad that the issue is gone, I cannot explain it. I do not see any changes between Ardour 8.2 and Ardour 8.6 (Mixbus 10.0 is based on Ardour 8.6.2) pertaining to this. Is this only for VST2 -- or also VST3? Are you using the same Audio/MIDI Engine settings in Ardour and Mixbus? The only MIDI related change is from @paul "15eae21c37 - fix failure to record MIDI notes that are already on when capture starts" - but that won't have any effect on live playback. |
