Summary | 0000953: Option(?) to lock "width" of stereo panners
Description | When linking the panner of a stereo track you implicitly set a "width" for the track. If you then pan the track hard right, e.g. using a MIDI controller, you lose this width information an once you start panning to the left again the two channels have become effectively merged into a mono point in the space. It would be nice to (optionally?) have two othe ways of handling this. 1) Keep the width constant -- make the panning of all channels stop when you have panned one of the channels to its limit. 2) Remember the width but allow the panning to "squeeze" the channels together -- so thaht when you pan hard right you end up with both channels hard right but as you pan back left the left channel moves first and the right stays stationary until the width has been restored, then things continue as normal until you start hitting the left edge. Definitely in the "not urgent, post 1.0" class IMHO, but a definite nice to have. Related might be a way of binding "width" to a midi control but I haven't really thought about how that might work.
