Summary0000939: "disk subsystem too slow" error with recording waveform display ON
Descriptionwhen recording waveform display is ON, after some period of recording (18 tracks: ~18min; 8 tracks: ~25min), i get an error message about disk subsystem being too slow, and ardour freezes and locks up the machine (can't even switch to an alternate console to shutdown).

when waveform display is OFF, i can record indefinitely (actually i've only tested up to 2 hours with 18 tracks), with a track count up to my limit of physical inputs, which is currently 18.
Additional Informationardour version 0.9beta28
kernel 2.6.11-mm4 on gentoo
all recording at 44.1kHz SR
acer 4002WLMi notebook computer (pentium M @ 1.6 GHz, with 1Gb RAM)

same result with ext3 filesystems on both internal 7200RPM HD and external USB 7200RPM HD

i have also tested on an xfs filesystem, with the same result.

 seems to be the same issue as bug 0000997 and 0000880
