| Description | I notice that the Debian package for Ardour lacks an icon. Could you create a 32x32 pixel XPM in /usr/share/pixmaps/ardour-gtk.xpm and reference it from /usr/lib/menu/ardour-gtk by adding this: icon="/usr/share/pixmaps/ardour-gtk.xpm" The details of the menu file are a matter for the Debian maintainer - Robert Jordens. The icon really needs to be provided from your end. If you're not graphically inclined, I'm prepared to create a suitable icon and submit a menufile patch into the bargain. Please email me with your requirements if this is the case. Thanks for taking the time to deal with this, and thanks for all the effort you have put in to maintaining great free software. | ||||

Yes, for Debian-based distros, /usr/share/menu/ardour-gtk should look like this: ?package(ardour-gtk):needs="X11" section="Apps/Sound" \ hints="Recorders,Professional,Featureful,WAV,GTK,MIDI,Music Editor,DAW,Multitrack,JACK,LADSPA" \ title="Ardour GTK" command="/usr/bin/ardour" \ icon="/usr/share/pixmaps/ardour-gtk.xpm" |

Is this a file typically provided by the application? |

The menu file is typically provided by the maintainer and included in the application package. I will notify Robert and Guenter via the Debian BTS. The Debian menu system requires a 32x32 pixel icon /usr/share/pixmaps/ardour-gtk.xpm and can also use /usr/share/pixmaps/ardour-gtk.png. It would be a Good Thing if these were automatically created from the source. :) |

ardour developers consider this resolved. still work here for package maintainers, and probably an email to be sent to ardour-dev which i will take care of. |
