Summary0009084: problems with multi monitor setup
DescriptionI have already written on the forum about this problem (https://discourse.ardour.org/t/ardour-7rc2-menu-always-opens-to-the-right/107687/4), few more info here..
With all official build from 6.9 to 7.1 Ardour is not confined to main screen but spawn some windows and tooltip bwtween screens.

On loading, splashscreen on screen 1 but session load/config and plugin scanning windows are on screen 2. Attached pictures clearly showh the problem.

Does not happens with the openSUSE build, for this I didn't notice before..

openSUSE TW, with Plasma desktop on Xorg.
vcard: Radeon rx 550

Now that gtk are in bundle with Ardour, bug happens even with the build for openSUSE. Is there a way to avoid this ? Remove them from the source ?

I see. both our official builder and apparently also openSuSe compiles Ardour in an enviromnent without `libxrandr-dev` and without `libxcb-xinerama0-dev`.

Will fix.

Ardour nightly builds since 8.4-30 should no longer have this issue.
I've also contacted the openSuSe packager about this issue

Yep, nightly build it's OK. The openSUSE build is almost ok. Splash screen starts on the wrong monitor, after plugin scan it moves to the right one. Session->Open the open window it's always on the wrong monitor.. Only that window !
I think we can consider the bug fixed.
Tips on what to check in the openSUSE build are welcome :)
Thanks.

can you check openSUSE's build log, does the configuration stage show

Checking for 'xrandr' >= 1.2.99                      : yes
Checking for 'xrandr' >= 1.5.0                       : yes
Checking for header X11/extensions/Xinerama.h : yes
