|0009014: Feature request: MIDI Note Chase
|A feature to improve MIDI editing by a mile, would be what's called MIDI Note Chase in Bitwig.
This feature makes it possible to listen to MIDI regions without having to start from the beginning.
Let's say you have a 4 minute long drone with a melody playing on top. When editing this long piece or soundscape, we now have to start from the beginning every time to hear what it sounds like. Or export/import along the way, but both these methods are really time consuming.
And Bitwig, maybe others aswell – I've only just heard of this feature, has made a solution where you can start in the middle of a MIDI note and listen to it from there.

This would be such a great improvement for MIDI editing.

|We plan to implement this in the near future. However, it is worth noting that there are some mildly tricky design judgements that need to be made. Some sounds have a very different attack than their sustain sound, and having the note literally start up in "the middle" will give different sonic effects than if it had actually been playing for a while.
Thanks for pointing out the trickyness and inaccuracy of it. And nevertheless: After reading your reply, I think I do love you just a little.
Thank you so much!
