Summary0008988: Introduce "autotune correction" like draw mode
DescriptionFirst of all: Sorry for my bad english.

Singers and other winds, cords instruments can be not very accuracy. There is a lot of plugins that can ajust the height of a note (like x42 autotune...) and it can aloso be ajusted in ardour.

But theres plugins have downside e.g: you choose the notes (C D E F G A B) in a track (or a segment). But in complex melodie with a lot of accidental (sharps flats...) it's almost useless.

Ajust the accuracy of a track like you ajust the gain using draw mode could be an awsome feature.

I hope you'll see my point.

What do you think about that?

Cheers.

Instead of picking notes in x42-autotune, you can use a MIDI track in Ardour to to draw the notes(s) of the melody, and then use that MIDI track as side-chain input to x42-autotune.

Create a MIDI track without synth then use pin-connections of the autotune plugin to connect it to the sidechain input of the plugin

Other than that try melodyne, or a similar dedicated tool. Ardour itself does not provide any DSP.

Any chance to provide DSP in a future release?

Waiting i will use x42-autotune with a midi track

Thanx

There are no plans to provide any built-in processing directly in Ardour.
Apart from summing and gain, Ardour does no do any realtime signal processing by itself, everything else is delegated to plugins.

First of all there is no single correct way to do pitch correction. So even if Ardour developers had time and expertise to implement it, curating a specific algorithm would be odd.
With plugins you can pick the most suitable for the job at hand. The same applies to equalizers and pretty much any effects processor.

Furthermore plugins can be updated independently from the host.
e.g. during the last 14 months where Ardour had no updates there have been at least 4 maintenance releases of x42-plugins.
