| Description | I downloaded ARDOUR 9 (whatever does it mean) for Mac OS X. Of course I have installed X 11! But, when I tried to open it - it seems it doesnt exist! I have instaled Jack OS X as well! Nothing happens!!! ??? SIMPLY - THIS APP DOESN'T FUNCTION AS IT SHOULD! Anybody any clue? Prof. DEJA VUE | ||||

With the greatest respect, can i ask that you read http://ardour.org/support.html http://ardour.org/bugs.html If you also scan other bug reports in Mantis, please notice the difference in the amount of information provided in many of them compared to yours. We do not develop ardour on OS X, but we have ported it to OS X. It has been seen to run on OS X by several users, but we have *NOT* released it for OS X in any formal way at this time. If you would like to join the very small number of people who are trying it out on OS X, we would welcome that, but you will need to provide significantly more detailed and technical feedback when things do not work. Dear Paul, Thank you for your polite guidance, but I am not interested in any kind of developing anything - which means I could report bugs in my way and if you (or someone else) want to help - OK! If not - I will simply quit trying to use Ardour until it becomes available even as Beta (not "porting to OS X"). So, I will take your very polite answer as: "Dear Sir, will you be so kind to quit trying to use Ardour, because you cannot provide sufficient and technicaly proper information to us"! In other words, I have to quit because Ardour is not ready yet to be used with Mac OS X Panther (or Tiger, tomorrow). Thanks a lot. Yes, we've heard that ardour won't work with the current jackosx package. It should work with the new release that is due. In the meantime, why don't you stick with garageband. |
