Summary0008567: <Delete> key doesn't delete automation control point/s (but <Backspace ?> does)
DescriptionAccording to the manual, control points can be deleted by selecting (left-click) then pressing <Delete>, or by <Shift>+<Right-click>
https://manual.ardour.org/editing/gain-envelopes/

<Shift>+<Right-click> works, but selecting followed by <Delete> doesn't.

However, select followed by <Backspace ?> does.

In fact, it works when multiple control points are selected (which was what I was after doing), so might be worth adding to the manual, as this seems quite handy to know.
Steps To Reproduce<Left-click> a control point, to select, or draw around several with edit tool.
Press <Delete> -> Nothing happens.
Press <Backspace ?> -> Control points deleted.
Additional InformationI don't know if this is a functionality bug, or a manual omission. However, since Ardour's built-in keybindings list suggests <Delete> and <Backspace> are largely synonymous, I'm guessing the <Delete> key should be doing the same as <Backspace> in this context.

It may or may not be relevant that I'm using a laptop keyboard (Lenovo Thinkpad R61i), but both <Delete> and <Backspace ?> are distinct keys, as on a bigger keyboard.

? at the end of <Backspace > should be the left-pointing block arrow symbol with an 'X' inside. I inserted that Unicode character, but it doesn't seem to register/reproduce after posting.

Now tested on desktop machine with same OS and Ardour versions, with full-sized keyboard, and experience same behaviour as described previously.

Also occurs with Draw tool (i.e. after clicking on a control point to select): <Delete> doesn't, but <Backspace> does.

Additional information:

<delete> key not deleting control points affects both gain and automation envelopes.

However, the 'drag to select multiple control points' feature seems to work only in automation envelopes (not gain). This seems undocumented, so I'm not sure what correct functionality should be, but it's a useful feature.
