| Summary | 0000798: too many regions crash X windows | ||||
| Description | If there are too many regions in a session, ardour crashes and takes my X session with it. Before this happens, the gui becomes extremely sluggish and the hard drive goes crazy. The DSP meter stays low, around 0.5% last time it happened. I have a simple session containing nothing but regions consisting of small snippets of a loop. 128 regions is fine in this session but copying and pasting to make it 128 causes the crash. | ||||
| Additional Information | I regularly use this sort of technique to get that many regions. Perhaps it's an abuse of the technology but apart from this problem it works really well. | ||||

This bug is still present in beta22. I seem to have reported it twice by mistake, should I close this report or the older one? |
|
|
could you try beta27, it has greatly improved handling of many regions |
