Summary0000719: It must be possible to read TC of Broadcast wave when importing files
DescriptionI tried to import soundfiles from a buggy session, i
used to think that if I naturalize them (original
position in region's menu) i would be able to
reconstruct the session, but it's seems that ardour
change the TC of the file when importing. (files was brodcast wave recorded with Ardour in May 2004)
Additional InformationIn my other sessions, the fonction "naturalize" seemes to work fine, but if I import the broadcast wave, it's no longer work.

I posted a request (0001225) for this (or similar) and it's still not possible.

this is implemented in ardour2 and is known to work when *embedding* files.

it does not work when *importing* files, since the file that shows up in the session is new and may not even be in BWF format (if the user isn't using BWF).

its not clear what the right strategy for dealing with this is. it will definitely be post-2.0.

i'd appreciate a new feature request being filed "use BWF timestamps when importing audio"

see notes: works for embed, not for import. new strategy/feature required for import.
