Summary0006977: Ardour 4: Stretch does not respect snap
DescriptionWhen using stretch (T), the final length of the region will always be at the position of the mouse cursor, regardless of what is set in the snap/grid mode.
Steps To Reproduce- Set the snap/grid mode to Beat
- Use Stretch (T) and drag the region to the half of the beat
- Click ok to whatever stretch mode is set
- The right side of the region will be where the mouse cursor was, not at the fixed beat

4.6 is considered obsolete.

Check the bug in Ardour 5 and verify that it still exists, and then we will look into it.

Testing with 5.0 here does not show this bug.

Please also note that we do not provide support for Ardour builds created and distributed by Linux distributions. We cannot control their build process and distributions have routinely caused issues with Ardour due to this.

Please always test against an build ( for the absolute current version, or for the most recent release). Free demos are available which are suitable for testing.
