| Summary | 0006731: Individual track monitoring button not tied to record-arming | ||||
| Description | The current monitoring options do not allow recording without direct monitoring. Muting the track does not solve this issue when recording multiple takes on the same track - you need to be able to hear playback while being able to record yet simultaneously not monitoring what is being recorded. A seperate "monitor" button (as available in Reaper for example) which operates irrespective of the record arm button would solve this issue and would also enable track monitoring on tracks that are not armed for recording which, in the case of guitar players using ardour primarily as a VST-host, is a very real scenario. | ||||

On mixer strips, there is 2 buttons "In" and "Disk". -You can activate monitoring on tracks that aren't armed for recording by clicking "in". Re-click for disable -You can disable monitoring on tracks armed for recording by clicking "Disk". Re-click for reactivate. |

Thanks for the quick response elgoun. Although not as efficient compared to monitoring buttons available at each track (next to solo, mute, etc), it should do the trick. |
