Summary0006682: on a fresh install, the Audio/MIDI setup window does not choose PortAudio as default audio system
DescriptionThe Audio sys will have Jack selected even though the default is labeled as PortAudio. The user will then need to select PortAudio from the pull down. If PortAudio is labeled the default the user should not have to select it? Maybe it should already be selected.

This is only true if JACK is installed on the machine.

Very first time: the default is the first element in the list of available backends which is sorted alphabetically.

After that the most recently used one is pre-selected.

On GNU/Linux we have the opposite issue. ALSA is pre-selected while many users want JACK. If JACK is already running: ALSA will fail.

PS. now that the waves (ASIO) backend is gone, I suggest to rename "Portaudio (default)" to "Portaudio" or "Windows/PA".
