| Summary | 0006538: building with python3 results in a binary looking for a wrong config dir | ||||
| Description | I retried what i did about 2 weeks ago, and changed /usr/bin/python to point at python3.4 instead 2.7. This time i did have success running ./ardev (first time it failed because of a mismatch of the binary filename and what ardev was looking for (with some single quotes added), so this part already seems to have been fixed. What happens still is that ardour looks for config files in ~/.config/ardour0 instead ~/.config/ardour4, runs the initial setup wizard, and writes a new set of config files there. On a subsequent run the setup wizard shows again, but this time presenting the settings I chose at the first run. so it seems to pick up the config but to still think it's being run for the first time. I attach terminal output for both runs, cutting out the over-verbose JACK log also contained there. | ||||

I pulled latest and did a configure and build in Windows. The executable name is correct, without the replace("\'", "") code I added last week, and the startup wizard only runs the first time. |

I can confirm that the fix works for Linux too :-) at startup it gives me the recent session list I used to get with the python2 builds, so everything is fin now from my POV. |
