| Description | The "window->meterbridge" menu item is a checkbox which (presumably) is supposed to toggle whether the meterbridge is visible. However in practice this does not work on most window managers. If the meterbridge is already shown but has been stacked "behind" another window, then you have to click the meterbridge menu item twice: Once to un-check it, and once to show it again. I'd prefer if the meterbridge item was simply a "show/bring-to-front" action. | ||||

done in 4.1-7-g02be98b. The menu-entry is no longer a checkbox-toggle. Activating it brings the meterbridge to front if it was not visible or obscured by the editor and hides it in case it was plainly visible. Retaining the checkbox is not easy (ardour would need to monitor the window state, minimized, desktop, position.. or at least check the state of the window every time the menu is displayed). Another edge-case that remains to be addressed: Editor + Mixer + Meterbridge. So far ardour checks editor/mixer and editor/meterbridge overlap but mixer/meterbridge is ignored. I also suggest to remap Alt+B (currently big clock) to Meterbridge. |
