| Summary | 0000634: Midi control surface | ||||
| Description | It would be great if ardour can be control with a control surface, not only volume and pan, but also mute/solo, record enable, automation stuff... like pro tools and ProControl. There's info about building control surface and other midi stuff at http://www.ucapps.de. I know some people who want to build a such midibox for using with ardour, and maybe there are other who want to use ardour with "big" CS too. | ||||

You can already do most of this with a control surface that speaks MIDI Machine control. However the full thing requires identifying a particular h/w protocol to use, and we will probably implement the Logic/Mackie Control protocol as part of release 3.0 |
As of 2.0, ardour supports several control surfaces: Generic MIDI, Mackie, Frontier Tranzport, Powermate. |
there has been control surface support of various kinds for quite a while now. |
