| Summary | 0000633: range/chunk problems | ||||
| Description | if several tracks are placed in an edit group, a range selection on one track doesn't propogate through the rest of the tracks in the group. using shift and left click, a range can apply to multiple tracks, but a chunk made from this range cannot be pasted back onto the editor with 'insert chunk'. a chunk created from a range occupying one track works as expected, and is inserted correctly. | ||||

was the edit group active when you made the range selection? |
Yes, the edit group was activated at the time (box was ticked). Fiddling with this more, I created a new group in a new session containing 8 mono tracks, imported (copy) 6 mono wav files, then dragged them onto the first 6 tracks. I then assigned the 6 tracks to my new group and made it active (clicked next to the name, causing a tick mark to appear). Selecting the region on track one causes the regions on the first three tracks to be selected. Selecting the region on track 4 selects the regions on tracks 4,5 and 6 (not what I expected). The range mouse mode acts as described earlier, by only showing a range on the track under the mouse. Shift will allow multiple tracks to be 'ranged', but a chunk made from this range will contain only one region (the one from the track under the mouse at the time of the "Create chunk from range' operation). This bugnote applies to 0.9beta18.4. |

Is this still an issue in 2.8? Having problems understand exactly what the issue is. It should be noted edit and mix groups are being completely overhauled for A3 so even if it exists in 2.8 it might not in 3.0 |

Closing this as it is very old and no recent feedback. Also I suspect the problem may be that imported WAVs were different lengths. |
