| Summary | 0000632: horizontally dragging of regions impossible in 18.2 | ||||
| Description | there is no way of dragging regions on the timeline with the mouse. Setting editcursor to the wanted place and choose "align" drags it, dragging with the mouseleftklicked is only possible vertically (from one track to another) | ||||
| Additional Information | I tried several workarounds like freeze-unfreeze, lock-unlock, define/remove syncpoint etc but none works. neither configure nor make showed any errors. nls and ksi disabeled, no vst | ||||

is numlock on? Sometimes numlock is assigned to MOD2 which ardour uses to time-constrain dragging |
one way to fix this permanently is to run: xmodmap -e "remove mod2 = Num_Lock" at the start of your X session. |
Hwhhauoww! Cool! Numlock is it - just tried - if numlock is off everything works fine :-) |
So is this resolved? |
Resolved hmmmm... i would not say so, since Numlock is switched on by default and one has to care for switching it off in order to work with ardour, many will fail to do so, since they do not know about. I would say, regarding severity it is still a feeble but annoying bug like the issue with the locale, that breaks resoring of the mixersettings when working non-english. Think, a let us say, talented musician from Austia checks ardour on SUSE 9.1: he/she will not be too enthusiastic about, for how could she/he know, that one has to start ardour by a script to unset the locale and to switch off Numlock. Of course it is not a "major"-Bug. |

fixed in CVS. there is no X Window standard for what modifier "Meta" should use. Ardour uses Mod2 by default. If NumLock is found to be using Mod2, Ardour switches to Mod3 etc. |
