| Description | When I try to close a session without quitting ("Session -> Close"), Ardour crashes. My system is Mandrake 10.0 Official. Ardour is 0.9beta18.2, installed from the sources. I probably did something wrong while building it but I am unsure of how to diagnose the situation. Any ideas are appreciated. I had the same issue with the two previous betas, which I also installed from the sources. | ||||

same version, no crash here. does it happen with a fresh session, too, or only with an older one that's been generated by an older version of ardour? |

It happens both with a fresh session an an old one. |

I get this too. It's not a segfault though. It says "aborted" instead. Might be a thread problem. |

I got a similar Problem regarding Jackd, that is: closing a session via "quit" from the menu terminates Ardour without visible Problems but crashes qjackctl. jackd seems to keep running ... |

zettberlin: your problem may appear similar, but it sounds like it should have a different bug report. It's not *that* similar. |

I can reproduce this with both 0.9beta18.4 and the latest cvs (downloaded 2004-08-05 13:23). |

Closing a session in Ardour closes the entire program for me using the newest Beta19 version. In fact this has happened to me using every Beta18 version of Ardour, along with the newest Beta19. If I try to open a new session with a session already running ardour gets what appears to be a seg fault, or it is just somehow quitting. |

No crashes with Ardour/GTK 0.529.3 libardour 0.827.4. * Can close a session and open another. * Can have an open session then open another (Get asked about what to do with the current session like I would expect), new session works fine. |

I just got the latest CVS build (Ardour/GTK 0.530.0 running with libardour 0.828.0) and it still crashes for me. I can put up one of my sessions for download if you think it might be session-related, but it does happen with every session I've tried so I doubt it's the session. |

Using ardour beta19 (0.529.3, 0.872.4), ardour aborts when closing a session. Steps to reproduce: Open a recent session Play a bit Create a new session Answer 'just close' on the warning dialog Ardour is gone. This might be related to this bug... |

please test this out with 0.9beta20, now released. i cannot duplicate this behaviour there, and we believe that a number of thread related fixes may have corrected the problems. |
