Summary0006170: MIDI stops playing when jumping with 'p' on high tempo
DescriptionArdour Version:
===============
3.5-4505-g2a04ff8

Setting:
========
Xubuntu 14.10, 64 bit

Description:
============
When currently playing and then jumping to another position with key 'p' then midi sometimes stops playing. Especially on high tempo (e.g., 220 bpm). When again jumping with 'p' midi might work again or not. When I say 'midi not working' I mean that there really isn't any midi signal any more in the midi track. The chosen instrument of the midi track doesn't seem to play a role as I reproduced it with drumgizmo and fluidsynth.

With 'always reproducible' I meant that I could simply do that in a new session, not that on every jump with 'p' midi stops working correctly.

Reproduce:
==========
- Add MIDI track
- Add MIDI region
- Draw some notes
- Set session bpm to something high (e.g., 220)
- Start playing
while (bug has not occured) {
    - Place the playhead with 'p' at another position
}
Additional InformationThere are neither error messages in the log nor on the terminal that seem to be related to the bug.

It doesn't seem reproducible with (the older) version 3.5.407

The MIDI signals also stop after some time _without_ jumping with 'p'. Unfortunately I don't get any error message and have no idea how to narrow it down.

Cannot reproduce the bug that occurs when jumping with 'p' in current nightly (3.5.4699). The one where the MIDI signals suddenly stop when playing (last note added in this bug report) is still there so it doesn't seem to be related to this one. I will open a new bug report for this.

Still occurs when I changed the speed from 120 to 220 bpm. Attached the session where the bug occured. Just jump around with 'p' while playing and the MIDI signals should vanish instantly after some jumps with 'p'.

the issue understood. It should be fixed in 3.5-4728-g7bb9d04

(leaving this bug's state feedback until confirmed, git 7bb9d04 is a rather invasive change may have broken other cases)
