| Summary | 0006135: Removing plugin with >2 outputs on stereo track, the panner doesn't change back to stereo panner | ||||
| Description | For example, I have a stereo track or bus with the deafult stereo panner. Then I insert a plugin with >2 outputs (in this case calf x-over 2 band, 2in, 4 out), the panner changes to the round one. All good. But if I remove the plugin the panner doesn't change back to the normal stereo panner, it stays with the round one, with no option to change to the deafult. The same also happens with mono channels. Remove the additional output ports. (right click on the port-connector) |

To elaborate: the panner type depends on number of channels at the panner position (just before the 'output'). When adding a plugin that has more outputs than the current number of channels, new outputs are added. But when removing the plugin.. Ardour does not know if the extra channels were added manually OR automatically (due to the plugin). Also in the latter case, there's a chance the user may want to keep the extra channels to retain existing port-connections (e.g. add another similar plugin) Ardour just leaves them. |
