Summary0005908: MIDI Connection Manager cannot connect 'Click out' to 'system midi'
DescriptionIn the 'MIDI Connection Manager' it's not possible to connect the source 'Click out' (in the 'Ardour Misc' tab) to the destination 'system_midi' (in the 'Other' tab). The box in which you would click to select this is in white (rather than grey), so you cannot select this connection (see screenshot).

If there is some reason why it won't let you do this then it would be nice if it was made clear, as I have no idea why it won't let me do it. If there's not a reason then... bug! Well, it's a bug either way IMO.

Additional InformationOS X 10.9.2.
Ardour 3.5.357 (gce4d125).

Click is an audio signal, it's not a midi signal. You can't connect audio to midi.

The question might still remain, why is an audio source listed in a midi connection manager ?

Surely Ardour is able to send the click as a MIDI signal as well though, no? Please don't tell me that I have to create a MIDI track and copy and paste crotchets for 300 bars to get a MIDI click track..?

I'm not telling you anything more than why you can't connect the source "click out" to a midi destination, and why that cross point is white.

For a midi click track please start another report as a feature request, with a detailed description of how you would expect it to work.

Not a bug.
