I think you might be referring to Calf plugins? As far as I know LV2 plugin controls can't be automated from their GUI. The Calf plugins show up a "send cc to automate" message. In their standalone host this works, but in Ardour (and Qtractor) this option shows up but is greyed out. Is this what you are referring to? If so, I believe this is an issue with Calf or LV2 rather than Ardour. A workaround would be to right click on your plugin and select 'edit with generic controls'. Control and middle mouse clicking on parameters will allow you to create midi bindings. The parameters for all plugin formats can be controlled in this way. |

It works just fine here (tested with various LV2s and ardour-3.5.357) Does it work with LADSPA plugins? Either this is a problem specific to debian's version, or you may not have enabled Generic Midi Control (Edit > Preferences > Control Surfaces > Generic Midi) or have not connected the MIDI-device to Ardour's jack-midi-port "MIDI control in". right click on a plugin -> edit with generic controls, ctrl+middle-click on a control element -> popup display -> move midi-slider/fader -> mapped. |
