| Description | Any attempt to open a plugin parameters edit window causes an immediate segfault. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a track or bus 2. Insert a plugin and select it 3. "Right-click -> Edit" to open the edit window Result: edit window never appears, Ardour crashes. "Ctrl + Rigth-click" in step 3. leads to the same result. Happens with any type of track or bus, with any ladspa plugin. I have not tried VST. Plugins can be inserted and cleared, they can be activated and deactivated, and the affect sound as expected when active. The only problem is that that parameter editing doesn't work. The same plugins work without problems in other programs, including parameter editing. Ardour is 0.9beta17.1. My system is Mandrake 10.0 Official. Could this be some kind of system-specific GUI issue? Please tell me what additional info you would need. | ||||

looks like a build/system-specific issue. at least, i cannot duplicate this here with several LADSPA plugins and with a couple of VST ones. |

i suggest you do a source installation to test it. |

I did a source installation, and now the problem seems to have disappeared. |
|

see bugnotes. something will have to be done about these bad binary packages. |
