| Description | Ardour automatically adds two automation points when adding automation. This really takes away the possibility to draw quick automation, as every time a point is added, another needs to be selected and removed. If it's a feature, I think it should be possible to turn it off. | ||||

I can confirm I am having the same issue here |

Also see bug no. 0005351. This is the main thing preventing me switching from 2.8.x to 3.x |

I have the same issue with 3.5.74. |

[..] Note that without the first point, the original value would be lost and everything to the left would be affected." So this is not a bug, but as mentioned further in that email-thread being able to switch insert modes is a good feature request. |

Switchable mode is now working when drawing gain line as of 3.5-359-gce4d125 (ie. left-click makes one point, ctrl+left-click makes point plus guard point). Also working when editing existing automation line. :-) |
