Summary0005562: After add and removal of a stereo track, no subsequent tracks can be created.
DescriptionHow to reproduce the bug:

1. Create a new project -> only the "master" track exists.
2. Add a stereo track "Audio 1"
3. Insert existing audio into that track, I've use a 43,8 MByte Stereo WAV file (16 Bit 44.1 kHz).
4. Remove the "Audio 1" track and confirm.

After that procedure, no new tracks could be created. Closing and relaunching Ardour fixes that misbehaviour.

Just a note: we are very unlikely to fix this issue in the 2.x series. If it exists in 3.x as well, it will get fixed there.

I'd suggest to fix it for 2.0-ongoing since Ardour 3.x isn't useable on Mac OS X for the time being (Plug-in states not saved.).

I could look in the sources by myself to identify the issue, but it isn't easy to setup a build environment with the informations given at ardor.org. E. g. the versions of required libraries etc. are the same for 2.x and 3.x, is this true?

The full list of dependencies can all be found via http://ardour.org/development

Building Ardour on OS X is a major effort and can easily be made more difficult by the use of macports or other similar systems. Git contains scripts to build the entire dependency stacks but because of the time suck that supporting them has represented, they are not documented or pointed at. Not that hard to find if you know how to interact with a git host.

Have you confirmed that it is present in Ardour3 ?
