the double volume applies to the playback stage in ardour and to exported files. if you open the ardour source in rezound, playback level of the source file is accurate. |

Maybe this has been forgotten or it's not real? Nobody else has commented about it but if it's real it basically renders Ardour unusable. At least for me. It would be good to know if anyone else is seeing this. |

I've just spent 4 days exporting many files to 16 bit dithered, and I haven't seen this at all. Sorry I didn't have time to check 24 bit. Summing the left and right master channels to mono on export did, however, result in 'increased' level (this was the expected behaviour). |

hi nmains, were you running 1in,1out routes? My guess is that you're working with 2in,2out/stereo files. The problem won't occur their. As I recall, from a conversation on #ardour, Ardour assumes 2out and doesn't do the correct thing with 1out--or something like that. I've just retested this and the problem definitely exists. |

tested with ardour 2 svn rev 154X. problem is no longer present. |
