| Description | Has there been any consideration given to renaming the snap/grid units to music note values for more commonly used, and larger, values? Or to at least have the option to change it in preferences?
Especially now that ardour has midi, it would be nice to be able to set the grid to music note value. Certainly, it's what most people would be used to already and would make it more attractive.
Also, It might make it easier to navigate to the grid value you are looking for if the menu had line divisions in between various categories -
Example -
- Time related values
- Beat divisions for smaller values that can't easily be expressed in music note value
- Music note values
- Arbitrary values
The initial mock up went up to 64th notes but it gets messy with names and i wasn't so sure if I was right with some of them :) I think going up to 1/32 notes gives you quick access to most of what you'll use and you still have the option to go smaller again. Everything is exactly where it was and in the same order, it's just renamed but I think it would make the menu a lot easier to navigate.
Could something like this work?
