| Summary | 0005101: A3 playhead flickers, breaks up and moves in jerks | ||||
| Description | The playhead in A3 does not move smoothly unless the view is zoomed out a long way so it moves very slowly. This is on a system with onboard AMD graphics (r300) using the radeon driver. According to Xorg.0.log, hardware acceleration is enabled. It happens on my test system with a 1280x1024 screen and seems worse on my production DAW with 1650x1080. | ||||

I listed the wrong jack version. It's 0.122.0 (Debian package). |

Disabling the playhead shading by setting shade.property_width_pixels()=0; on line 41 in gtk2_ardour/editor_cursors.cc gets rid of the flicker on my systems. (It also makes editing easier as the shading was making it harder to position the playhead accurately on the waveform.) |
