Summary0005041: VU meters are very slow
DescriptionHello,

The VU meters in 3.0 beta5 and beta4 are very slow.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.11, but the issue was the same in 12.04.

Compiling ardour myself, and the issue is gone.
Additional InformationI have a radeon HD graphic card and I use the open source Gallium driver.

I cannot use the propriotary driver as they create a lot of xruns.

this is caused by interactions between the version of Cairo we build with and your video driver. you could try the "fix" described here: http://ardour.org/node/5281

it would be good to know if this fix works for you.

Hello,

The fix described does solve the issue.

This problem between the version of Cairo and the video driver impacts as well the Open Source Radeon driver.
