|Summary||0005002: Trim automation changes level relations (Linear)|
|Description||if you have an automation lin of 0.0 db, And in it a step of 0-X db, and you will drag it down, the range between the lin and the step will get bigger then the original X.|

||i don't understand what the issue is here.|
Let's say I have an area where the level is 0.0 db with a small step down in the middle of -3 db.
Then I range select the area and trim it down a bit.
I would expect that the 3 db difference will not change.
In Ardour it will grow.
||See attached movie.|
ok. this happens because the mapping between the GUI and actual gain coefficients being non-linear. 2 pixels at the bottom of a fader automation track is a different number of dB than 2 pixels 3/4 of the way up.
its a bit of a problem to fix because when moving individual points this difference is very desirable, so that moving control points has the same non-linear feel as moving the fader itself.
i'll give it some thought.
