please be more specific about the exact operations you're taking. i can draw MIDI notes without issues (on Lion), so we need to understand what sequence of things you're trying to make work and why it goes wrong. |

ok, its clear now, thanks. you need a region to be able to draw notes. there's been a certain amount of debate about what the pencil tool should do if you click outside of a region. this debate has not been settled. to create a region, just click in the MIDI track in object mode, and it will create a 1 bar region that can be trimmed to any length you want. there has been the suggestion that object-mode drag in a MIDI track where there is no region should create a region as long as the drag. this will likely be implemented at some point, but it does nothing at present. |
