| Summary | 0004770: the svn revision reported by ardour with "-v" or in the "about" window is not correct. | ||||
| Description | currently, the information is written during "./waf configure". beta testers working from svn will invoke this very rarely, so their reported versions may be out of date most of the time. i upped this to hey wtf level because i think it's critical for the usefulness of bug reports from non-developers, and will lead to all kinds of broken hearts if the present state of affairs continues. the revision string must be updated at build time to cover uses of ./ardev. doing it at install time is not sufficient. | ||||

yay! and what's best, if you have a mixed version containing local changes merged with svn updates, the about box will now report your version as "nnnnnM" (a feature of svnversion which is what's used by wscript to determine the actual version). very nice, and a good early warning system if people have funky checkouts. |
