| Description | I am a gladish/laditray user and have jackdbus already running/managed by Ladish. So, when I start Ardour, it would be nice to skip the audio setup prompt and just be able to choose my session. However, this is not possible and I can see from the shell that Ardour wants to start jack anyway (even if I don't want it to) which causes Ardour to crash: Cannot open ardourprobe client JackSocketClientChannel read fail JACK COMMAND: /usr/local/bin/jackd -p 128 -R -P 60 -T -d alsa -n 2 -r 48000 -p 1024 -d hw:1,0 JackSocketClientChannel read fail Cannot open ardour client | ||||
| Additional Information | I cannot seem to open Ardour in any fashion at all, which is weird becuase it actually worked the first time I started it after downloading beta2. Thos could be from the remnant configuration information I had in ~/.config/ardour3 from using the alpha releases?! Wiping out this directory completely (fresh launching) still causes Ardour to crash at launch. | ||||

Perhaps this is a Beta 4 (ui polish) problem to fix because I can start a new session or previous session from the command line and bypass the audio/midi setup routine. This effectively lets me get into a session without Ardour attempting to start jack and subsequently crashing at launch. |

this is a problem with your JACK setup, not with Ardour. |
