Summary0004445: track header fader should not be as wide as the fader in the editor mixer strip
Descriptionspeaking about ->menu->track->hight->normal

if we look at the size of a track header and a editor mixer strip, we clearly see that the mixer strip is several times bigger than the track header. but the faders in the both have the same wide.

i think that the fader in the track header should have maximum 2/3 of a wide they have now.

this would give us some more empty space in the track header.

one is vertical, one is horizontal. i don't see any reason to compare them.

that is right, but the reason i came to think about this, is that in the moment selecting a specific track header means that we really have to search for the empty space where we can click on it. this is perhaps a minor issue, but from my point of view it is also really annoying.

apart of that, i am still thinking that it would look more ergonomic.

We have narrower faders in SVN 12928.

very much thanks for taking care of this.
this way, for me the functionality is improved, since clicking at the track fader is really easier.
but please allow me to make some more criticizing on this.

we have now the inconsistency in how the mouse appears.

in the '->track->hight->normal' mode, if i place the mouse above the track header fader, the mouse is represented by a simple arrow, but if i place the mouse underneath of the track header fader, the mouse is looking like 'two arrows' showing up-and-down. sorry i really did not found better words to describe what i see, so i hope it is kinda understandable.

i think the mouse should be shown as a simple arrow only when pointed over the track header fader. even better would be, but i do not know if that is easy or even possible, to move the track header fader more close to the track name area, so that we can only click into the name area, the track fader or underneath the fader, leavihng no space between the track name area and the track header fader, where the mouse is showing inconsistency right now.
that way, we could have the track header fader even little more wider, something between it is now and it was before it was changed?
hope that makes some sense?

again, thanks very much for tweaking this one!

the double arrow indicates that a drag will resize the track.

paul,

thanks for your comment on this coming so promptly!

for me this does not look polished to the end, cause we do not have a clear indication if we wanna click at the fader or at the track header right now, when pointing either at the track header fader or above it.

the double arrow is clear.

Fader is moved up a bit in SVN 12941. I'm afraid I don't follow your comment above.
