| Summary | 0004407: the navigation widget in the editor is sluggish to the point of being unusable | ||||
| Description | in complex sessions (upwards of 40 tracks), the navigation widget becomes very slow and is no longer usable. the problem seems to be that ardour wants to follow the user's dragging action with the entire editor viewport in real time. i can see how it's nice to do this if it can be done smoothly, but for large sessions, this behaviour needs to be configurable, so that the editor window is only updated on the mouse-button-release event at the end of a drag. | ||||

Implemented in SVN 10377. |

awesome, thanks. works perfectly for me so far, and it makes a huge difference. suggestion: change "summary" for "navigator", and maybe add a note "advisable for very large sessions", so that people will discover it when they run into the problem. the way it's worded now, it's a bit hard to see how it's useful. |
