| Summary | 0004352: Cannot use fader widget in MIDI track's send editor | ||||
| Description | I'm not sure what a send should do on a MIDI track when there is no instrument plugin loaded, as it always connects to audio ports. However it is possible to create one: 1. Create a MIDI track 2. New Send... 3. Select an audio output (MIDI is not possible) and close the matrix window 4. Double-click on the send 5. Notice how the fader in the window does not work, but the inline send fader in the mixer strip's plugin box does. | ||||
| Additional Information | It should probably not be allowed to create this type of AUX send feeding MIDI data to audio ports - no wonder it creates a non-funcitonal MIDI fader (0-127). | ||||

This also happens for an _internal_ Aux Send: Double-click the Aux item in the plugin box - the strip fader changes to MIDI mode and does not work, just as described for external sends above. Also note that the "inline" fader in the plugin box for sends has logarithmic behavior, while the big fader widget is linear (0-127). This can be observed when moving the inline fader back and forth. |

|
The fader behaviour should be more logical now. MIDI sends also work; it's just that sends default to having the same outputs as the master bus (if there is one). You can add a MIDI port to the send if you like. |

I'll resolve this, as I think these things work now. There may still be confusions about how sends work on MIDI tracks; please re-open this bug or add a new one if you have specific concerns. Thanks! |

From my basic testing so far, it works as expected. Although, as you say, expectations are somewhat unclear about what MIDI sends should actually do. Thank you! |
