I get the same crash - running ardour on the console outputs "Killed" when this happens. Running ardour0.9beta11.2 (on gentoo) On 0.9beta11 is didn't happen. |

Same here. arec freezes ardour, same happens when placing gains while aplaying a file. Slackware 9.1, alsa 1.0.1 ardour beta 11.2 |

I've got a workaround. Press play and immediately press stop. Then do the same again. It should work ok until you restart ardour. |

I tried to reproduce under ksi_ardour, this is what I did: audio track->set_gain_automation_state(Write) press roll session starts moving change gain fader on effected track press stop and set set_gain_automation_state(Off) rewind / turn on playback gain automation (set_gain_automation_state (Play)) works as expected, the automation plays back properly current CVS libardour 0.818.6 |

if nobody reports this bug as still existing in current Ardour/GTK, it will be closed at the end of this week. |
