| Summary | 0004138: Midi playback of tracks with multiple channels does not work correctly when only 1 channel selected | ||||
| Description | The attached ardour3 session (made with A3r8) show a problem wth midi recording/playback. Ignore the missing audio files which I deleted to save space (I removed the track, but I did not see any menu option about "cleaning up unused sources). The track labelled "Pianoteq 1+2" was made with input from my midi keyboard (a venerable Roland RD-300s), which normally outputs identical midi to channels 1+2 (hardwired to output 2 midi channels). Hence, this track contains 2 "identical" midi recordings on midi channels 1+2. I play it via Pianoteq as you may guess. If I select midi channels 1+2 on the midi channel selector on the track, the track plays normally. However, if I select either channel 1 or 2 by itself the playback is not right and has extra notes added in strange ways. The midi monitor shows that when each channel is selected separately with the midi selector, it seems that notes from both midi channels are sent out the selected midi channel with small time offsets which screws up playback. (by the way you could play this back with a demo version of Pianoteq which would work except for missing a few notes). The track labelled "Pianoteq 1" was made filtering out midi channel 2 with mididings and recording only channel 1. In this case the playback works fine. So the problem is that midi playback of tracks with multiple channels does not work correctly when 1 channel is selected. | ||||

I noticed that the deleted track ("Bounce of PT 1") still shows up in Qjackctl. Seems like the jack output connections should be deleted when the track is deleted. |

i'm now working on this issue, but along the way wanted to note that i really like chords in this piece :) |
should be fixed in 3.0 SVN (rev 9811) |
I checked out 9811 and confirm that the fix worked. Glad you liked the chords. |
